Evgenia is currently working as an in-house illustrator at YCN and will be adding images daily to this post.

At the moment I am doing an illustration a day for days of week to put on the YCN homepage.

This week I am doing 7 DOs and DON'Ts to be healthy and energetic. This brief was originally set by my friend Olya Malysheva for Salatshop.ru - a website about healthy lifestyle that she runs in Russia. She asked me to share my own DO's and DON'Ts and I have decided to join the two and make an illustrated version. Here are the advice I can give:

Sunday's pointer:
I grow herbs on the windowsill, its not a lot but makes food taste much better! As for growing up, its always good not to take yourself too seriously, a good laugh never does any harm.

Saturday's pointer:
I try to drink lots of water every day, just have a glass of water by me all the time and fill it up when its empty. I really like coffee but try to limit it with one cup a day.

Friday's pointer:
Cats stretch a lot! People don't really have to jump and run around to catch food anymore, but there is no reason why we shouldn't keep our body flexible. And I try to remember my granny when siting at the table, she always used to slap me on the back when I was slouching.

Thursday's pointer:
I take a cold shower every morning to wake up, it makes the heart beat faster and start up the body. I try to get up at the same time every day to have a routine that my body is used to.

Wednesday's pointer:
Breakfast is the main meal of the day because it gives energy to go through busy mornings. It might be tempting to have a biscuit or a chocolate during the day but I try not to because it only makes me feel hungry.

Tuesday's pointer:
I try to replace cooked food with raw fruits and vegetables, especially now when its almost summer and they are easier to access and cheaper too. And I haven't been eating meat for over 6 years now.

Monday's pointer:
Moving is very important, I like music and take it with me wherever I go, It's fun and keeps you in a good mood if you dance while washing up, swiping the floor or brushing your teeth.
Smoking is not good for you and everybody knows it.

Last week has been inspired by the nursery rhyme "Monday's child".

Monday's child is fair of face:

Tuesday's child is full of grace:

Wednesday's child is full of woe:

Thursday's child has far to go:

Friday's child is loving and giving:

Saturday's child works hard for living:

For the previous week I have chosen to stick to a specific colour palette, after the Thai tradition, where each day has its own colour.
Monday is yellow, Tuesday is pink, Wednesday - Green, Thursday - orange, Friday - blue, Saturday - purple and Sunday - Red.

The best thing to do during the weekend is to relax and have a good sleep, just like lucky sloths do all the time.

This blue Friday is not so blue because its a Burrito friday!

The name Thursday comes from the god of thunder, lightning and storm - Thor. Luckily, none of these happened this Thursday, which probably means I did a good job.

The wednesday image named "Walk over Wednesday" is inspired by the fact that Wednesday is the middle of the week and everything after that day seems easier and more relaxed.

The tagline of this Tuesday image is 'a russian bird came over to YCN'.

Also, here are a few bits I have done before:
